World Time Widget

Ask Siri about time zones

You can now use World Time Widget without opening it. Ask Siri how far ahead Tokyo is, add a city by voice, or jump straight to the Calculator from the Action button. Here’s everything you can say.

Things you can say

Finish each phrase with the app’s name, World Clock, so Siri knows to use the app instead of its own clock.

  • “Compare times in World Clock”: Siri asks for two cities and tells you the difference, like “Tokyo is 9 hours ahead of London”, with a card showing both times. It handles daylight saving and half-hour time zones.
  • “Add a city to World Clock”: Siri asks which city, then adds it to your clocks without opening the app.
  • “Open Auckland in World Clock”: opens the app and scrolls to that clock. Any of your saved cities works.
  • “Timezone Calculator in World Clock”: opens the Calculator. “Meeting planner in World Clock” and “Timezone difference in World Clock” work too.

Siri also understands World Clocks, World Times and Timezone Calculator as the app’s name, so “Compare times in World Times” works just as well. Siri works in English, French, German and Spanish.

Shortcuts

The Shortcuts app has five World Clock actions:

  • Compare Cities
  • Add City
  • Open Clock
  • Timezone Calculator
  • Search, which opens Add City with your search already typed in

Put any of them on the Action button, in Control Center or on Back Tap, or use them in an automation. Shortcuts you made with the old Time Travel action still work.

Spotlight

On iOS 18 and later, swipe down on the Home Screen and search for one of your saved cities. It shows up as a World Clock result, and tapping it opens the app. You can search by continent too, such as “Asia”.

Get it

Siri, Shortcuts and Spotlight work for everyone in the latest version of World Time Widget, free on the App Store. Free users can open the Calculator, but the other cities’ times are only shown with Premium Club.
